We’re coming to the end of another successful and impactful year.
Looking back over the year
We were delighted to continue work in all our core regions this year: London, the West Midlands, the Northwest and the Southeast. Overall we delivered our programme to 350 cohorts of students across these areas, reaching about 9800 students in total. We also trained 137 new volunteers.
Here are some quotes from schools and students this year.
Schools:
We absolutely loved the workshops! The facts were presented in an engaging way through the videos and the children learnt so much.
Great resources, very knowledgeable volunteer with wonderful presence and ability to keep children engaged.
Our volunteers were very knowledgeable and had a super rapport and manner with the pupils.
The programme for Year 5 was incredibly informative. Our volunteer was exceptionally inclusive and kind, building a strong and positive relationship with the pupils from the very start. The children were devastated when the programme ended because they enjoyed it so much.
And from students:
I loved the workshops and I learned how to protect our planet.
They were very fun and inclusive and I learnt a lot.
I think you should go around the world to speak to people about this because this really inspired me.
I loved it and it makes me want to help be a CO2 Buster.
I loved every nanosecond of it.
New staff member and launch in new regions
This month we’re excited to welcome a new member of staff. Rachel Adams is joining the team to launch the programme in Yorkshire and the Humber, focusing on York, Leeds and Sheffield, and also the Southwest, focusing on Bristol. Rachel brings experience from her previous career as a teacher and also in the environmental charity sector, and we’re delighted to have her with us.
Launch of teacher programme
From the autumn onwards, we are also launching a teacher programme so that teachers can deliver our content directly in areas where we currently don’t have volunteers. We are keen to recruit schools for this so if you’re reading this, and you’re a teacher, please get in touch.
Thank you everyone for your hard work this year and we’re looking forward to being back in the autumn.
